USTDA Business Briefing: Nigeria Satellite Technologies
9:30 am Eastern
Virtual
USTDA is hosting a virtual business briefing for satellite sector decision-makers from Nigeria to meet with U.S. suppliers of state-of-the-art satellite equipment, technologies and services.
Background
With a population of approximately 200 million and a 31% broadband internet penetration rate, Nigeria represents a priority market for U.S. telecommunications companies to leverage satellite technology that will harness connectivity and further economic growth. While there is significant growth in fixed wireless connections, the deployment of satellites is critical to meet increasing demands for connectivity and to bridge existing gaps.
Since Africa’s demand for communications satellite connectivity is expected to double over the next five years, Nigeria is also turning to satellites to improve connectivity and fulfill the Government of Nigeria’s efforts to provide greater internet penetration to underserved populations.
